ABOUT US
The Sandhills Photography Club was started in 1983 to provide a means of improving members' photographic skills and technical knowledge, for the exchange of information, and, by club activity, to develop membership potential and public interest in the art of photography.​

EXHIBITIONS

Members have the opportunity to exhibit their pictures regularly throughout the year. These run from showing work at local galleries to placing images at local offices and organizations in the Sandhills area.​

​

JUDGES & PRESENTERS

This page lists the recent contributors to the Sandhills Photography Club via Program Presenters, Judges, and Workshop Presenters.

FIELD TRIPS

Twice a year, in the Spring and Fall, SPC members arrange field trips to locations within easy reach of the Pinehurst/Southern Pines area. There will also be Day Trips around the local area. Information about these trips will be in the monthly newsletters and on this website.

OUTINGS

Occasional outings to local and nearby sites of interest are offered. Check the outings page for further information

PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY OF AMERICA

The Sandhills Photography Club is a member of PSA. The PSA has a new YouTube channel. See below.

​MEETINGS​​
The Sandhills Photography Club meets the second Monday of each month, at 7:00 PM in the Sandhills  Horticultural Gardens, G. Victor  and Margaret Ball Gardens Visitors Center, 3245  Airport Road, Southern Pines, NC .  Meetings alternate between programs, competitions, and field-trip presentations. Workshops and field trips round out our activities. Guests are always welcome!

COMPETITION PHOTOS


Competitions are held every other month from February to November. Currently all are digital but we have had print competitions in the past. Winners, runners up, honorable mentions and other competition photos are available to view on-line.​

InFocus, our monthly newsletter, keeps you up-to-date with the club's activities. Everyone contributes and it is a mine of information covering upcoming competitions, workshops, exhibitions and field trips, as well as tips and tricks, items for sales and membership news

WORKSHOPS

We offer both paid and free workshops for our members. From understanding and mastering Lightroom, Photoshop and Photoshop Elements, using imaging presentations techniques, picture framing to how to shoot good and creative photos using a variety of techniques and intensive hands-on teaching from recognized experts. You can be sure to always be learning at SPC.​
